Job Responsibilities:



Benefits Administration Responsibility and Duties:


  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims.
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
  • Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions.
  • Conduct Benefits Orientation with new hires/newly benefit eligible employees.
  • Help set-up and conduct Open Enrollment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Leave Administration Responsibility and Duties:


  • Communicate with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensure that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
  • Handle the FMLA leave administration process from the employee s initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
  • Maintain reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work, relay communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.
  • Advise managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
  • Oversee the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers compensation, or other leave(s).
  • Facilitate other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA.
  • Administer other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws.
  • Draft and/or recommend revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
  • Preserve confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws.

Job Details:


  • DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY
  • Pay Rate: $35-$45/hr. (DOE)

Candidate Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field, and five years of related benefits, leave or employee benefits administration experience, or
  • 8 years of related benefits, leave or employee benefits administration in lieu of a degree
  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge (formulas, macros, pivot tables, v-lookups)
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary.

Desired Qualifications:


  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • SHRM s Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential a plus
  • Non-profit experience preferred.
  • Experience working within a Union environment
