Biomedical Purchasing Manager

PACE Staffing Network is on the hunt for an OUTSTANDING Purchasing Manger to join the team of one of our Great Clients!

This Client, a Biomedical sciences company, that is pioneering new technologies and approaches gene therapy and how our genes interplay in the body to affect health and disease. They have an amazing Downtown Seattle location with sweeping views of Puget Sound! The Purchasing Manager is expected to work closely with a variety of different staff within the organization while focusing primarily on maintaining, ordering and stocking supplies. General equipment maintenance and lab staff support is to be expected as needed.

Pay: $75, 000 - $85, 000 annually
Benefits: Full Benefits Package At Conversion
Length of Assignment: Temp2Hire (600 hours temp period)

Job Duties:
  • Make online and phone purchases per multiple ongoing Procurify lab requests
  • Ensure transaction accuracy, timely order placement & delivery time-lines
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors sales reps
  • Resolve delivery/discrepancy/backorder issues between vendor and lab
  • Negotiate big-ticket instrument discounts and extended terms as needed
  • Negotiate annual instrument Service Agreement pricing with vendor reps
  • Ensure order confirmations and invoices are recorded to Procurify and Concur
  • Maintain inventory of common lab supplies
  • Track inventory and assets
  • Oversee maintenance and servicing of lab equipment
  • General administrative assistance as needed

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience - preferably in purchasing/inventory management
  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Competence with inventory database systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot
